JOHANNESBURG TO MANYELETI GAME RESERVE

DAY 2

Today we collect you from the hotel where you are staying and transfer you by road to the Manyeleti Private Game Reserve. The drive takes 6-7 hours and you travel through a few touristic towns en route to the Reserve and Main Camp. Of course, you make scheduled and un- scheduled stops for the bathroom, to stretch your legs and to buy some snacks or refreshments along the way. On arrival at Main Camp you will get a brief camp orientation and  then checked into your room. There is time to freshen up and enjoy a light snack before you set off on a sunset safari drive in the Manyeleti Reserve. Safari drives in the Manyeleti will be accompanied by a ranger or guide who have a comprehensive knowledge of all flora and fauna found in Manyeleti.  They are all very passionate people who have a special ability to teach you about nature.

You arrive back at the camp as the sun is almost completely gone and you can sip on a refreshing drink or coffee at the camp dining area before sitting down to dinner. Dinner is served al-la-carte and you have a choice from a three-course meal including starters, main course and desert. After dinner spend time around the fire sharing stories of the day before retiring to your room for a good night’s rest.

MORNING AND AFTERNOON OPEN VEHICLE SAFARI DRIVES

DAY 3

Spend day 3 doing morning and afternoon safari drives in the Manyeleti Game Reserve. Manyeleti means “Place of the stars”. Manyeleti means “Place of the stars” in the local language. It truly is a unique safari destination well off the beaten path. You can be certain not to encounter big tour groups traveling around in busses, but rather expect a pristine bush experience in one of the world's most beautiful places. This 23,000-hectare private game reserve has unfenced borders directly with the vast Kruger National Park, as well as the famous Sabi Sands and Timbavati Game Reserves.

Each day you will get a wakeup call from your guide and make your way down to the dining area for tea and coffee which will be served with biscuits before departing on your morning adventure.

Your guide will explain the morning's events before departing on an open game viewing vehicle through the Manyeleti Game Reserve. You will have the opportunity to spot the Big 5 animals like Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant, and Buffalo, as well as an array of antelope and other wildlife animals that can be found in the Reserve. Arriving back at the camp after the safari drive, you are invited to relax and enjoy brunch at your own leisure. After brunch, there is time to walk around the camp or have a swim (depending upon the season of course). Make good use of this time to catch up on some sleep or simply enjoy the absolute tranquillity of the bush from the comfort of your chalet.

Hopefully feeling totally relaxed and well rested, you make your way to the restaurant area for a light lunch including sandwiches and snacks, fruit juices and ice cold drinks.

You guide meets you in the restaurant area and you depart on an afternoon/sunset safari drive in the Manyeleti Game Reserve. You make your way back to the camp after an exhilarating drive where dinner will be waiting for you. Dinner is served and you have a choice from a three-course meal including starters, main course, and dessert. After dinner enjoy an early night’s rest or stargaze from the deck in front of your air-conditioned chalet room.

MANYELETI GAME RESERVE TO CAPE TOWN

DAY 5

The sun rises over our final day in the Manyeleti Reserve and we have one last chance to find the animals that have eluded us thus far. After breakfast, you are transferred to Hoedspruit's Eastgate Airport for your flight to Cape Town. (Flight rate excluded) Upon your arrival in Cape Town you will be collected and transferred to the Hotel and the rest of your day is spent at leisure.

EXPLORE CAPE TOWN AT YOUR OWN LEISURE

DAY 6

Today is spent at your own leisure in Cape Town. There are many things to do in and around the city including boat, cultural, walking and city tours or spend the day lazing at the beach.

CAPE TOWN TO OUDTSHOORN

DAY 7

Your exciting experience begins in Cape Town. After departing nice and early at around 07:00, we drive through the scenic countryside and stop for tea en-route before arriving at Chandelier Game Lodge & Ostrich Show Farm, our accommodation for the evening. This hideaway is found between the famous Garden Route and the wide-open spaces of the Klein Karoo. Following the ostrich tour here, we’ll get to enjoy a delicious dinner before retiring to our comfy rooms for a good night’s’ sleep.

OUDTSHOORN TO ADDO NATIONAL PARK

DAY 8

There will be plenty to do on this day! You could visit Meerkat Adventures (optional and own expense), where you can do a two to three-hour tour with wild meerkats … before sunrise, we might add. Then, after breakfast, we’ll depart to Cango Caves – home to dripstone caverns containing vast halls and towering formations – for their Heritage Tour at 09:00. Once we’ve explored this unique site, we’ll enjoy a tasty lunch at Steytlerville Royal Hotel (own expense).

Following our arrival at the main camp at Addo Elephant National Park, we’ll aim to spot lions, elephants and more on a sunset SANParks drive. Remember, this is not a private game drive and other guests may be joining you on the drive. Dinner is a two-course meal, made with love and served al fresco. You may also be happy to know that wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along additional/alternative drinks which can be purchased at the shop.

ADDO ELEPHANT PARK

DAY 9

Today, we’ll spend our time exploring the Addo Elephant National Park. Starting off with a morning game drive, our guides will aim to show us as much of the park, and the magnificent creatures that call it home, as possible, before we head back to the camp for a yummy and much-needed breakfast. After this, you’ll have some free time, which you could spend exploring the camp.

In the afternoon, we’ll embark on another game drive, which offers us the opportunity to see the animals we haven’t as yet, before heading back to camp for an exquisite dinner and great conversation with the new friends we’ve made.

ADDO ELEPHANT PARK TO TSITSIKAMMA NATIONAL PARK

DAY 10

After getting off to an early start, we grab some breakfast and then head to the stunning, scenic Storms River, which travels through the Tsitsikamma Mountain Range and then out into the Indian Ocean … it’s a popular stop on the Garden Route. And if you think that sounds amazing, just wait until we get to experience the John Benn sunset cruise – it’s known as one of the best floating restaurants in Knysna!

Our accommodation on this evening will be at Aestas, a cosy B&B, located in Knysna, that offers stunning views and is only a walk away from several shops and restaurants. After all that exploring, this place is the perfect spot to spend the night!

TSITSIKAMMA NATIONAL PARK TO CAPE AGHULAS

DAY 11

Today is the day you get to catch up on all the sleep you’ve missed. We have the morning at leisure before departing to Agulhas at about 11:00 … the drive may seem long but scenery along the way more than makes up for it.

We travel through the scenic Overberg region (you might see The Langeberg mountain Range in the distance), which has rolling hills and fields of wheat and canola, and fynbos. We’ll also pass well-known towns like Mossel Bay and Bredasdorp, which, by the way, has a great shipwreck museum … you might even be able to visit it if it’s open when we pass by. Once we reach Agulhas National Park – our accommodation for the evening – we’ll get to enjoy not only breath-taking views but also a fine meal beneath the stars and the South African sky.

CAPE AGHULAS TO CAPE TOWN

DAY 12

After a satisfying breakfast, we’ll commence our journey through one of the most scenic parts of the country. If you didn’t get to see enough shipwrecks in Bredasdorp, Agulhas would have a few noteworthy ones, too. To appease those rumbling tummies, we’ll stop in the town of Hermanus to have lunch (own expense) and hopefully of spot several southern right whales (seasonal) while we’re at it.

After grabbing a bite to eat, we’ll continue through to Stellenbosch for an unforgettable wine tasting at one of the wine farms, depending on the time available, before concluding our journey in Cape Town. The tour ends at 17:00 and you will be dropped off at the hotel where you are staying.

CAPE TOWN AT YOUR OWN LEISURE

DAY 13

Spend today at your own leisure in Cape Town and visit the many sights Cape Town has to offer such as Robben Island, Table Mountain Cableway, a wine farm, seal colony, or a day tour of the Cape Peninsula.

DEPARTURE DAY

DAY 14

After a leisurely breakfast, you are expected to check out from the hotel by 10:00 am. You can spend the rest of the day in Cape Town before being transferred to the Cape Town Airport.
