JOHANNESBURG TO MANYELETI GAME RESERVE

DAY 1

Today we collect you from the hotel where you are staying or from Johannesburg’s’ OR Tambo Airport and transferred by road to the Manyeleti Private Game Reserve. The drive takes 6-7 hours and you travel through a few touristic towns en route to the Reserve and Main Camp. Of course, you make scheduled and un- scheduled stops for the bathroom, to stretch your legs and to buy some snacks or refreshments along the way. On arrival at Main Camp you will get a brief camp orientation and  then checked into your room. There is time to freshen up and enjoy a light snack before you set off on a sunset safari drive in the Manyeleti Reserve. Safari drives in the Manyeleti will be accompanied by a ranger or guide who have a comprehensive knowledge of all flora and fauna found in Manyeleti.  They are all very passionate people who have a special ability to teach you about nature.

You arrive back at the camp as the sun is almost completely gone and you can sip on a refreshing drink or coffee at the camp dining area before sitting down to dinner. Dinner is served and you have a choice from a three-course meal including starters, main course and desert. After dinner spend time around the fire sharing stories of the day before retiring to your room for a good night’s rest.

FULL DAY KRUGER PARK SAFARI DRIVE

DAY 2

Early morning will see you will get a wakeup call from your guide or camp manager and you have time to prepare for the day before making your way down to the dining area for tea and coffee served with biscuits which should give you the energy you need until you have your packed breakfast at a picnic area in the Kruger National Park.

You guide will explain the day’s events before departing on an open game viewing vehicle through the Manyeleti Game Reserve into the Kruger National Park.

You will have the opportunity to spot the Big 5 animals like Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant and Buffalo, as well as an array of antelope and other wildlife animals before stopping at a picnic area to enjoy the packed breakfast prepared for you by the Main Camp Chef. After breakfast you continue in search of wildlife animals as you make your way to a rest camp for lunch. During the heat of the day it’s always a good idea to have a light lunch and some refreshments as the animals are also hiding from the African sun and sightings are lot more difficult to come by. After lunch you set off again through the Kruger National Park on a game drive slowly making your way back towards Main Camp in the Manyeleti Reserve.

Arriving back at the camp late afternoon enjoy some relaxation time as tonight, you are again treated to a traditional South African meal under the stars. This normally includes, chicken, beef and lamb grilled to perfection on an open fire or as a stew with salads, fresh bread rolls, soup of the day and a local desert. It’s been a long day and after dinner enjoy an early night’s rest in your air-conditioned chalet.
